Bandwidth Hog

One of the problems with Bittorrent is that it can have a real negative effect on connect speeds.
Not that I’d have any experience with that…

Rocky scowls, gets up and goes to knock on Ace's door.
Rocky: Ace? You decent?
Ace: Yeah. Come in.
Rocky: Do you think we might save on bandwidth if I gave you access to my music and porn collection?

Well I have.
Back when Anime was more a “cult following” than mainstream, and most were only fan-subtitled in English instead of having their own entire TV channels dedicated to them… and before streaming video was common, Bittorrent was how I got most of my anime. Not because I was too cheap to rent, but because otherwise there was so little available.
I rarely us my bittorrent client anymore, and always try to go through more legitimate channels first before resorting to the grey-legal.
But hey, sometimes my favourite show on Netflix is only licensed in one country, which I am not in, otherwise airing on one TV network only in said same country, and all promises of a VPN letting you watch anything from anywhere fall flat.
Having a fallback source is necessary sometimes.
You can always limit the bandwidth that BitTorrent used. I used to set it to about 80% of my internet bandwidth so that there was always something to spare. Of course, this was back before we were commonly streaming video.
Why is this page censor-blurred? Everybody’s dressed.
They use the P-word which is NSFW.
I wondered if it was because the artwork on Rocky’s wall features a bikini that turns transparent when wet (not the most practical swimwear, that’s for sure).
