    Also, ‘being there’ doesn’t have to mean ‘being there‘ with the child, it can also simply mean, that the child knows who he is and can contact them if they need to
    Ace grew up not even knowing who his father was, and that was what he didn’t want for any child of his, the not knowing

      My parent’s didn’t have their amicable divorce until I was in my mid-late 20s, so I acknowledge that’s not the same as being a little kid growing up without a male role model, but even though he moved away, he didn’t go far, and any time I needed him, he was there, but also not constantly around driving me nuts (see relationship with my mother >_> ) day in and day out either. Kind of a happy medium… at least for a son that was grown and didn’t need his father to be there every single day.
      I still consider him a great father.
