And lighting wouldn’t explain the sharp line differencing the two shades (not to mention the fact her right arm is bent at the elbow, meaning the line should have been on the forearm if it was due to overhead lighting), and also doesn’t explain the uniform shading on Luna
There’s overhead lighting, her upper arms are getting indirect light, her forearms more-direct light. In other words her upper arms are partially shaded, so they look darker.

Not just you, maybe the forearms are a different colour because she normally wears short sleeves, and that’s the Orion equivalent of a tan
