“Time to process”, certainly. “Before she tells Carly”, very debatable.
Carly is going to need his processing time also, but he can’t START until someone lets him know what he needs to process.
They’re going to be out of sync on this one. Rocky will be calming down and trying to make rational plans, and Carly will still be in initial reflex-panic mode, just like Rocky was a day earlier.
People wonder why men often seem to freak out and panic when told they’re going to be a father. Really, it’s as often just that the mother has been given the time to calm down first.
Yeah, you know it is well written when you hear the pregnant pause and the doctor’s voice go dead flat.
