Depends on how young Ace was at that first time
Yeah the little Ace strips show that even when he was very young, she didn’t exactly treat him as a child. The only information she seems to have not given him was the name of his father and it sounds as if she wanted to keep him from exposure to Larry’s temperament and tendency towards violence.
If that was simple, I’d hate to have to listen to a complex version of that explanation.
