Roddie, this ship’s A.I. is of the female gender (to whatever extent that matters to a ship).
I actually thought it was a bit odd for her to “EEEE!” over this model train, since it’s apparently an entirely different ship’s A.I., named Mr. Leo, who has the interest in trains.
My searches for the engine named in the comic has resulted in getting an offer for the 2021 Lionel catalog. Over three years after the fact.
Pretty sure Andy can see the future. I get serious “This is the way” vibes from Rusty there.
Model trains have been an adult hobby around for many decades. I imagine Covid has had a lot of people stuck at home with more time to work on that particular hobby, leading to a resurgence in its popularity.
And not one restricted to males. If I had the room a model train would be one thing that would be fun to do with the space. Unfortunately in a world of near infinite crafts and hobbies, there is alas finite space. Roddie may be excited on Leo’s behalf or she may be interested in possibly getting that model for herself.
