Getting ordained online is very simple. A group of my friends use this as a way to manage low costs weddings, with several of us ordained. Be sure to check the laws in your State to confirm that such an ordination is allowed to sign the certificate, if you want your marriage recognized by the Government.
Although if your state denies your ordination, they are effectively challenging your religion, which would not go over well on first amendment grounds. Then again, taking a case to the supreme court would probably run a few years, which might be a while for a pair of friends to wait to get married.
