Hmm… this only just occurred to me, but it was explained previously that you can stick items to your suits just by holding them against it for a second (and hold for several seconds for the suit to envelope the item completely) so I understand that’s how all those… powercells(?) are attached to Sky without anything like a bandoleer to hold them… which then raises the question as to why they’re still arranged diagonally as though she WERE using a bandoleer?

…Well, she’s 11. I suppose “she saw it in a movie once” is an entirely valid reason. 😉

The positioning of objects on a bandoleer is largely one of convenience. In that position they are easily grabbed for use as needed and yet out of the way so they don’t interfere with movement or aim.a

What puzzles me is that given any item held against the suit will adhere and be easily removed, why are the guns in holsters? Holsters will only restrict the movement of drawing the weapon and slow down the speed with which it can be brought to aim at a target.

Being in a holster might slow down the speed of drawing, butt that depends on how fast one is at drawing in the first place, also, it might still be faster, in an emergency situation, then attempting to get it unstuck from the suit

According to Captain Peach, all you have to do is reach and pull it away. Part of the function of the shipsuit.

There has to be a way for it to when it is intentional, and not because you bumped into something
It also might just be aesthetics and familiarity: putting a weapon into a holster just ‘feels more comfortable’

Yeah, I’m going to go with artistic license. Of course that is always my fallback position when reading fiction. It is the artist’s world, he is never wrong, that is just the way the world they created works.

Didn’t mean it like that, just meant, for Ace, having a holster might feel more ‘natural’ then just slapping the weapon to his thigh and hoping that it will stay put

As for artists being wrong, that has happened numerous times, not sure about here butt in other webics, and a sign of a great author is they will admit they made an error and attempt to correct it (like the wrong insignia and ranking in “Grrl Power”, DaveB could have easily just said “new military branch, different rules regarding rank” butt he didn’t)

Understood. Some of my replies are less to correct you and more because I can see where a new reader might find something confusing. I recognize your name, not only as a longtime reader here, but on several comics where I read comments (not all are worth reading) and I’m aware that you look as things in similar ways to how I do also. Part of why I comment here is the others whom do so feel like family (mine always share knowledge and ideas, to the point that outsiders mistook it for arguments.)

Need to say, enjoy reading your comments, for one major reason because it shows activity on the site, and because your comments are usually insightful (rather than inciteful 😛 )
Just a shame the only one responding is the resident idiot (me)

If I thought you were an idiot, I wouldn’t bother answering. Family motto is Never have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent.

Plenty of others think that for you 🙂
Usually those who are trying to pick a fight, and losing (as in, they want a fight butt they don’t get one)

This is a work of fiction. Any similarity to persons or cats, living, dead, undead, artificial, spectral, or semi-divine is coincidental. Really! I don’t know anyone like these people!
