At The Opera
Nov14
It would have been nice to make more of a production of the Opera sequence, but to tell the truth, I’ve never been to an opera, much less “Das Rheingold.”
I’m available for any rich widows needing an escort tho.

Rosa: So what do you thinks so far?
Ace: This is really great.
Narration: A really good opera can draw in the viewer every bit as much as the best special effects film can. Wager's "The Rhinegold" is one such example. It was easily the blockbuster of its day. - The story begins with Alberich, a Nibelung (dwarf), who becomes enraptured and is soundly rejected by Rhinemaidens, guardians of the Rhinegold. - Someone forgot to tell Ace, he's the villain .

My old band director had us playing a piece written for one of Wagner’s operas. He told us that Wagner was such a pain for the musicians working with him and the music he composed so complex to play that many refused to work with him at all. He finally build his own Opera House and hired his own orchestra to get his Operas before the public.
Sounds more like a problem with the ‘musicians’ than with the music
Think movie director ir actor that is both massively popular and highly skilled without any patience for the failings of mere mortals. Working with the gifted can truly be a pain in the ass.
I wanna say “No we aren’t,” but then I remember what I’m like to work for, for not with. I can be a sweetheart to work with, but I’m terrible to work for for precisely the reason you give, I understand the job intuitively like I understood reading in kindergarten. I couldn’t understand how everybody couldn’t just read and write.
